Donald Trump Returns After Years Of Waiting

(FreedomBeacon.com)- Last Friday, Google lifted the restrictions on former President Donald Trump’s YouTube account that were imposed after the January 6 riot at the Capitol in 2021.

The company announced on Friday that the former president could once again upload new content to YouTube where he has more than 2.65 million subscribers.

For two years, Trump has been barred from uploading new videos to his YouTube channel after violating the platform’s terms of service and policies on inciting violence following the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021.

In a statement on Friday, YouTube explained that it “carefully evaluated” the risk of “real-world violence” while “balancing” the importance of giving voters a chance to hear from all national candidates “equally” during the upcoming election cycle.

YouTube added that Trump’s channel is still subject to the same policies as every other YouTube channel.

With his YouTube channel once again available, the former president has now had all three major social media platforms restore his accounts ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

In November, Twitter CEO Elon Musk announced that Trump’s long-banned Twitter account had been restored. However, the former president has yet to return to what was once his favorite platform.

In a blog post in late January, Meta’s president of global affairs Nick Clegg announced that the suspension imposed on Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts after the January 6 riot would be lifted.

On Friday, after YouTube lifted the restrictions on Trump’s channel, the former President posted on Facebook for the first time since the suspension was lifted, sharing an old video clip showing him with former Vice President Mike Pence and his son Barron, writing, “I’M BACK.”

The former president, who has drawn tens of millions of followers on social media, has, until now, remained on his own platform, Truth Social, where he has only 5 million followers.
