Basketball Player Collapses Suddenly

(FreedomBeacon.com)- Over the past two years, it seems as though this kind of setting has become increasingly typical in America. A young basketball player suddenly experienced a significant health scare on Saturday night while participating in his favorite sport.

Old Dominion and Georgia Southern were playing basketball when Imo Essien, a sophomore for Old Dominion, suddenly fainted while playing defense with 13:13 left in the first half. Essien gripped his chest, fell, and writhed in agony on the ground.

Old Dominion men’s basketball players were shocked to see their comrade Imo Essien need medical attention on Saturday, and several of them struggled to contain their tears.

During play in the first half of the game, sophomore guard Essien appeared to weaken, then collapsed.

Essien, who didn’t seem to lose consciousness, was brought to his feet and led off the court by the trainers after a few stressful seconds. According to an ODU statement, “He was responsive throughout and was able to sit with the team for the entirety of the game and travel back with the team.”

Following the game, the ODU basketball team said the ODU Athletic Training team and the GA Southern medical staff evaluated Imo Essien, according to the university. He drove home with the team and was allowed to sit with them for the entirety of the game because he was responsive throughout.

The statement stated, “He is in good spirits and will work with the ODU Sports Medicine Staff when they return to Norfolk.”

Although there is no known immediate cause for the fall, numerous other young people have experienced similar health problems. Many of these people ended up dying.

We need to ascertain whether there is a connection between these unexpected, serious medical occurrences that young people are experiencing across America and what this root cause is.
