White House Embarrasses Itself By Not Answering Question, Before “The View” Makes Excuses

(FreedomBeacon.com)- The ladies from ABC’s “The View” criticized White House reporter Simon Ateba last Tuesday after he berated press secretary Karine Jean Pierre during Monday’s press briefing, calling him a “horrible person.”

During last Monday’s press briefing which featured the stars of the AppleTV series “Ted Lasso,” Ateba began shouting over Jean-Pierre, demanding she let him ask a question. Ateba noted that Jean-Pierre had not called on him for seven months.

Chaos erupted as Ateba’s fellow reporters called for “decorum” and “silence.”

But Ateba would not relent, telling Jean-Pierre that she was not in Russia or China, adding that she was “making a mockery of the First Amendment.”

During “The View” broadcast the following day, co-host Joy Behar said Ateba was not a “serious guy” or a “serious journalist,” pointing out that he once wrote an open letter to a Nigerian actress on his blog berating her for doing a topless scene when she is not attractive.

Co-host Sunny Hostin suggested that Ateba shouldn’t be permitted in press briefings, calling him a “horrible person.” She noted that Ateba does not have a “hard pass” or an assigned seat in the briefing room, explaining that he is only a “filler.”

Co-Host Alyssa Farra Griffin said it was important to have decorum in the briefing room, adding that reporters should not be permitted to “filibuster” during press briefings. She suggested that Secret Service should remove reporters who are disruptive.

Whoopie Goldberg added that Ateba should look at his behavior “because nobody wants to be jumped.” She added that Karine Jean-Pierre’s job is “tough enough” already.

In a lengthy Twitter post, Ateba shared the clip from “The View” and hit back at the hosts, calling the segment “disgraceful.” Ateba gave some of his experience as a reporter in Africa and concluded his tweet by asserting that he is a “true journalist.”
