(FreedomBeacon.com)- Approximately 70 days before the November elections, veteran Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa completed his “99 County Tour” across the Hawkeye State on Tuesday.
During the famous “99 County Tour,” Grassley meets with people from all 99 Iowa counties. He paid his final visit to Taylor County.
The senator’s campaign tweeted that Senator Grassley is unsurpassed in his dedication to representative governance. “Every county. Every year. And he’s not done yet.”
The senator answered inquiries from citizens about recent Supreme Court rulings, the so-called “Inflation Reduction” Act, openness at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and national security.
He reiterated his criticism of political bias at the FBI and his previous comments about a “lack of transparency” surrounding the agency’s historic raid on the residence of former President Donald Trump, Mar-a-Lago, KMA Land reported.
Grassley informed his people that “when it comes to prosecution, there is unequal prosecution, and that’s where the political prejudice shows up.”
The senator noted how they handled Hillary Clinton, who destroyed stuff. She was negotiated with and not charged. Then, when dealing with President Trump, they claim to have negotiated but don’t explain why they raided.
About 70 days before Election Day, when he will run for his seventh term in the U.S. Senate, the senator from Hawkeye State completed the tour for the 42nd consecutive year.
Over the past 42 years, Grassley’s famed statewide swing around his district to meet with residents has drawn attention. In the years running up to elections, presidential aspirants aspire to imitate the venerable senator’s yearly meet and greet.
Mike Franken, Grassley’s socialist rival, copied Grassley and finished the “99 County Tour.” This past weekend was the last day of his tour.
According to the most recent Des Moines Register survey, Grassley leads Franken by eight points. Grassley is backed by 47% of Iowans, compared to 39% who support Franken.
Admiral Franken, a retired Navy officer, has recently come under criticism for telling President Joe Biden’s detractors that he “did not serve” in the military for them.
On the campaign trail, Franken related how he addressed a letter to the mayor of a town in Iowa where a local was flying a banner that read “Let’s go Brandon” and “F*** Joe Biden” with pride.
Franken had intended to stop in the town but opted against it since he was so offended over the flag.
