(FreedomBeacon.com)- When questioned about reports that President Joseph Biden had laughed at the mother of two kids who had overdosed on fentanyl, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre lashed out at Fox News.
Rebecca Kiessling, who testified before Congress regarding the overdose deaths of her two boys, was interviewed by Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner on Thursday. In that conversation, Kiessling and Faulkner ripped into Biden for what they saw as his mockery of Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene for attributing deaths that were not his fault.
On Thursday, Jean-Pierre was questioned about the conversation at a White House briefing, and she responded by accusing Greene and Fox News of “lying” about the president.
A reporter notes to Jean-Pierre that Biden, while talking about Marjorie Taylor-Greene (MTG), made a statement that “it’s funny” that the fentanyl the two kids ingested was produced during the last administration, and then he laughed. The reporter wondered whether Biden felt bad about how it came out.
Jean-Pierre says that this concerns a mother who has already lost two kids, so she would tread carefully. She said this President has been in office for a while, and the American people have seen him cope with loss on a very personal level, so she thinks the public has a good sense of who he is.
She said she would argue that Biden is often mischaracterized by conspiracy theorists and people who peddle conspiracy theories that are easily discredited and debunked. Jean-Pierre was speaking about MTG.
She also said that those lies are often repeated by a “certain network,” in a not-so-thinly-veiled shot at Fox News.
Jean-Pierre concluded by saying their hearts go out to anyone who has lost a loved one, and that is something Biden has said “over and over again.”
