Walmart Claims Only Vaccinated Employees Don’t Have To Wear Masks

( Walmart just announced that employees and customers will no longer be required to wear masks in its stores nationwide…but they have to be fully vaccinated.

The announcement was made in a memo sent to employees on Friday, revealing that customers can shop without a mask effective immediately and that all associates will also no longer be required to wear a mask.

However, it has yet to be revealed whether or not Walmart will put a national system in place for customers to prove that they have already taken the vaccine. According to a report from The Hill, Walmart said that it will “continue to request that non-vaccinated customers and members wear face coverings in our stores and clubs.”

Walmart said that they will update the signing in their facilities to reflect the new rules, but so far, it looks as though the brand may be relying on people to simply be honest about whether or not they are vaccinated.

So if you haven’t taken the vaccine over concerns about receiving it, or if you have already been infected with the virus and recovered from it, you may have an opportunity to finally do your grocery shopping mask-free. Assuming you’re willing to be dishonest about it…and we’re not telling you to do anything either way.

According to the memo sent to employees, a “fully vaccinated” person is someone who has received two doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or who has received a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Walmart isn’t the only company to listen to the new recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control, either. While President Joe Biden might opt to continue wearing a mask (for some reason), Trader Joe’s has revealed that they will “follow the science” and allow shoppers to also shop mask free.

It looks like we may slowly be leaving the era of mask-wearing…
