Repeated Security Breaches at Mar-a-Lago
In a troubling development, Zijie Li, a 39-year-old Chinese national, has been arrested for repeatedly attempting to trespass at former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. This series of incidents has raised serious concerns about the security measures in place at the high-profile residence and the potential for foreign interference.
Li, who is in the United States on a student visa from California, faces multiple charges related to his persistent efforts to gain access to Mar-a-Lago. The suspect’s actions have prompted authorities to take swift action, with Li now being held on a $100,000 bail.

Alleged Chinese Assassination Plot
What makes this case particularly alarming is Li’s claim that he possesses information about China’s involvement in an assassination attempt on former President Trump. This assertion adds a layer of complexity to an already sensitive situation, potentially implicating foreign powers in threats against a former U.S. president.
“The Palm Beach Police Department, in speaking with the United States Secret Service, believe that with the increased attempts by Li to gain entrance into Mar-a-Lago in an effort to make contact with the President Elect that another incident with Li could result in the necessity to use an escalation of enforcement,” an affidavit from a police officer reads.
Li’s erratic behavior has not gone unnoticed. He was previously issued a trespass warning and arrested for trespassing at Mar-a-Lago on July 31. As a bond condition, Li was ordered to stay 500 feet away from the property. However, he blatantly disregarded this order, attempting to gain access again on October 30 by asking a nearby resident for help.
Mental Health Concerns and Security Implications
Adding another layer to this complex situation, Li was temporarily detained under Florida’s Baker Act for mental health evaluation. This raises questions about the intersection of mental health issues and potential security threats, highlighting the challenges faced by law enforcement in distinguishing between genuine threats and individuals in need of mental health support.
This incident is not isolated. It’s part of a series of security breaches involving Trump, including a sniper attack at a Pennsylvania rally and an attempted assassination at the Trump International Golf Club. The Department of Justice has also charged three men in a plot linked to Iran to assassinate Trump, with two arrests made and one suspect still at large in Iran.
The Secret Service has their work cut out for them in the next four years as more and more unhinged people try to kill the president-elect.
