U.S. Government Releases Updated Wanted Poster

(FreedomBeacon.com)- A new wanted poster for Joaquin “El Chapito” Guzman-Lopez, the 35-year-old son of drug lord El Chapo, has been released by the United States government. The man is wanted in drug trafficking charges in the United States.

The Department of State published the new photograph on Thursday as well as a new $5 million reward for anybody who can provide information that leads to the arrest of Guzman-Lopez.

In typical government style, however, the department was actually correcting a mistake after having got the photo wrong. A report from Borderlandbeat.com revealed that the first photograph was one of Cesar Guzman, a different son of El Chapo, and a man who is not in any way connected to the family drug trafficking business. It has now been updated/

Four sons of El Chapo are currently under investigation or indictment by federal agents, including Jesus Alfredo Guzman Salazar, Ivan Archivaldo Guzman Salazar, Ovidio Guzman-Lopez, and Joaquin Guzman-Lopez.

Bounties were also offered up by the Department of Homeland Security in December of last year. The $5 million rewards were offered to anybody who could provide information that leads to the arrest of any of those three brothers.

El Chapito and his brother Ovidio were indicted in April of 2018, both charged with conspiring to distribute over 5kh of cocaine, as well as 1,000kg of marijuana and 500g of methamphetamine. The men are described by federal authorities as operating in “high-level command” roles within the drug cartel that was founded by their father.

The United States government is working hard to capture the men, but Mexican President Andrew Manuel Lopez has warned that American federal agents can’t simply step onto Mexican soil to find and arrest the men.

It makes you wonder…why?

Why wouldn’t the president of Mexico want some of his country’s biggest drug lords arrested and locked up?
