Tucker Carlson And Sean Hannity Deposed In Dominion Lawsuit

(FreedomBeacon.com)- Last week, Fox News host Tucker Carlson sat for a deposition with attorneys representing Dominion Voting Systems in the company’s ongoing defamation lawsuit against the cable news channel.

Depositions continue this week with both Sean Hannity and former Fox host Lou Dobbs appearing.

The details of depositions are not public.

Dominion Voting Systems filed a $1.6 billion defamation suit against Fox News over its coverage of the 2020 presidential election.

Attorneys for Dominion allege that Fox News knowingly aired false claims about the company’s voting machines and argued that the network only promoted former President Trump’s allegations after Trump’s condemnation of Fox News “damaged its stock and viewership.”

The Trump campaign and its allies targeted Dominion Voting Systems after the 2020 election, claiming the company’s voting systems had inaccurate vote tallies and were susceptible to hacking.

Fox has tried to dismiss the lawsuit on First Amendment grounds, however, a judge allowed the suit to move forward.

Fox News remains confident it will prevail in the lawsuit, telling The Hill that press freedom is “foundational to our democracy and must be protected.” Fox described the damages claims as “outrageous, unsupported, and not rooted in sound financial analysis.” It said the lawsuit is a “flagrant attempt to deter our journalists from doing their jobs.
