MAGA Mayor Challenges Democrat Governor After Anti-Trump Comments

WWE legend Kane, known in political circles as Glenn Jacobs, the Republican Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, has thrown down the gauntlet to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and challenged him to a fight. The move came after Walz made disparaging comments about Trump supporters during an appearance on California Governor Gavin Newsom’s podcast.

Jacobs didn’t hesitate to call out the failed VP candidate on social media. “All joking aside, @GovTimWalz, let’s put our money where our mouth is…in a charity wrestling match,” he wrote on X.

WWE Champion Offers Generous Charity Proposal

The 7-foot former WWE champion didn’t just issue a challenge – he backed it up with serious money. Jacobs proposed splitting the proceeds 50/50 between their chosen charitable organizations and personally offered to kick things off with a $10,000 donation.

During Newsom’s podcast, Walz had boldly claimed: “I think I could kick most of their a–. I know I can outrun them.”

The wrestling legend hinted this could be his final showdown in the ring, adding: “Everyone is always asking me if I have one last match left. I think I have found my final victim, er, I mean opponent.”

Conservative Figures Rally Behind Wrestling Challenge

The proposed match-up has gained support from prominent conservative figures. Radio host Dana Loesch quickly volunteered to referee the match, while newly appointed VA Secretary Doug Collins expressed interest in attending.

This isn’t the first time Kane has used his wrestling fame to support President Trump. Both Kane and fellow WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker, known together as the Brothers of Destruction, publicly endorsed Donald Trump before the 2024 election.

The Undertaker, whose real name is Mark Callaway, appeared alongside Kane in a TikTok video urging voters to support Trump over Harris and Walz. “All right everyone. November 5th – ElectionMania. The choice is yours. You can go with President Trump, Kane and The Undertaker or you can take Kamala Harris, Dave Bautista and Tim Walz. Choose wisely – the nation depends on it,” Callaway stated.

The wrestling challenge comes as Walz returns to his role as Minnesota Governor following the failed Harris-Walz presidential ticket. Jacobs has served as Knox County Mayor since 2018 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021.
