(FreedomBeacon.com)- Last Thursday, former President Trump’s first wife Ivana died in her Manhattan townhouse at the age of 73. The New York City Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Ivana’s death an accident saying that the blunt impact injuries to her torso were consistent with a fall down the stairs.
Shortly after her death, former President Trump announced the news in a post on his Truth Social account, describing his first wife as a “wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman.” Trump said Ivana “led a great and inspirational life” and her children were “her pride and joy.”
Trump closed his post with, “Rest in Peace, Ivana!”
Naturally, Trump-haters zeroed in on the exclamation point at the end of the message.
The Trump-haters were also horrified when the former President’s Save America PAC emailed a screen capture of Trump’s Truth social post announcing Ivana’s death that included a link to donate money to the PAC. They posted screen captures of the email on Twitter and accused the PAC of fundraising off of the death of Trump’s ex-wife.
Arthur Schwartz, an advisor to Donald Trump Junior, blasted the anti-Trumpers, arguing that the email was sent on the PAC’s standard letterhead that includes a donate button, and was not sent out as a fundraising pitch, but simply to announce Ivana’s passing.
Ivanka’s three children, Donald Junior, Ivanka, and Eric released a joint statement on Thursday describing their mother as “an incredible woman,” a “world-class athlete,” and a “caring mother and friend.”
“She fled from communism and embraced this country,” the Trump children said, adding that their mother taught them “about grit and toughness, compassion and determination.”
Born Ivana Zelnickova in the Czechoslovakian city of Gottwaldov in 1949 the year after the Communists took over the country, she was a ski racer and model when she first met Donald Trump in the 1970s. The couple married in 1977.
Despite their contentious and very messy divorce in 1992, Ivana ultimately remained on good terms with her ex-husband.
