(FreedomBeacon.com)- At a demonstration in Washington, D.C., held to demonstrate support for those detained after the January 6, Capital Hill disturbance, a guy with a sign reading “Fart Noises” disrupted a call from Donald Trump.
The 35-year-old Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt, who was shot by a police officer during the attack on Congress in January 2021 and later passed away in the hospital, was introduced to the former president by her mother, Micki Witthoeft.
Trump spoke over the phone to a group of around a dozen protesters outside a jail in Washington, D.C-
“It’s an honor to be here with you, Micki, and everyone who is watching. Many people have suffered terrible things because they are being treated so cruelly. The person who shot Ashli is a shame, and when he appeared on television, it appeared as though he was bragging about it.”
Around this moment, the counter-protester entered the crowd behind the rally while waving his “Fart Noises” sign. A brief altercation started as some Trump supporters tried to cover it with American flags.
Trump continued to speak-
“If you look at all the riots that have occurred recently, not only in 2020, you will see that hardly anything has happened to the people involved. This is a disgraceful thing that they are doing, and it is a disgrace to our nation. It cannot happen here, and it cannot go on.”
Later, journalist and documentary filmmaker Ford Fischer conducted an interview with Witthoeft.
She made the following statement in response to Trump’s remarks: “It means a lot to me to know he’s backing the J6’ers.
Don’t forget that day saw the murder of unarmed Americans. That day, the Capitol police beat them.”
The Department of Justice and District of Columbia Police have cleared Ashli Babbit’s killer, Lt. Michael Byrd, a Capitol Hill policeman, of wrongdoing for his actions during the January riot.
Oddly, protestors who believe the police to be trigger-happy pigs have not said a peep about this particular guy. In fact, they applaud him.
