Trump Is Ready To Get Rid Of Mitch McConnell

(FreedomBeacon.com)- Former President Donald Trump is ready to get rid of Mitch McConnell, remarking that if he wins the presidency once again, then McConnell will no longer be leader of the Senate GOP. Trump was giving a radio interview on “The John Fredericks Show” when he blasted the Senate minority leader, according to Fox News.

“It’s crazy what’s happening with this debt ceiling. Mitch McConnell keeps allowing it to happen. I mean, they ought to impeach Mitch McConnell if he allows that,” Trump said. “Frankly, something has to be—they have something on him. How he approves this thing is incredible.”

Trump also called McConnell a “bad guy,” suggesting that he should be removed from office if he sides with the Democrats and lets them raise the debt ceiling. The debt ceiling is reportedly a “legislative cap on how much money Congress can borrow to pay its bills.”

The national debt is currently standing at $31 trillion. The United States government risks defaulting on that debt and jeopardizing the country’s ability to borrow money and fund the government if it cannot afford to pay its interest. To allow the government to continue borrowing and paying that interest, the debt ceiling needs to be raised, according to the outlet.

The White House has claimed that defaulting on the nation’s loans would be disastrous for national security and put the economy at risk.

Some lawmakers have reportedly proposed an extreme measure of doing away with the debt ceiling altogether, arguing that doing so would prevent political conflagrations.

Republicans have instead proposed a “must-pass debt limit” to reportedly “leverage spending concessions from Democrats.”

Trump has rejected the measure of getting rid of the debt ceiling, instead blaming McConnell for conceding to Democratic spending.

“He is a bad guy. He’s done a bad job. He’s allowed $4 trillion to go into the hands of the Democrats, and this is $4 trillion into the hands of these radical-left Democrats who are wasting it on the Green New Deal—think of it,” Trump said.
