(FreedomBeacon.com)- According to journalist Robert Draper of The New York Times Magazine, former President Donald Trump has “repeatedly” considered selecting Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene as his running partner in 2024.
On this week’s episode of “The New Abnormal” from the Daily Beast, Draper asserted that the talks and negotiations have been going on for months.
Draper, the author of “Weapons of Mass Delusion: When the Republican Party Lost Its Mind,” claimed on the podcast that since February of this year, Trump had considered adding Greene to his ticket.
He said that it’d been addressed numerous times. But how many of these talks has Trump had with other people? MJT is probably one of many people Trump has been talking with.
According to Draper, Greene is high on Trump’s list because she has been “unflaggingly devoted” to him throughout.
Understandably, after the Mike Pence incident, what quality in a vice president would concern Trump most?
That would be loyalty.
As his running mate, former Vice President Mike Pence “committed political suicide” by declining to interfere in the election certification process, according to Trump, who has previously stated that he wouldn’t choose him again.
Draper went on to say that the former president needed someone who would “fight for him.” He has every reason to assume that Greene would be on his side and would be his close warrior.
Purportedly, Greene spoke with Draper earlier this week and said that she had discussed being Trump’s running mate with him. Although she emphasized that the GOP establishment would not desire it, she claimed she would be “proud” to serve.
In a passage from his upcoming book, Greene said that she thinks “the last person that the RNC or the national party wants is Marjorie Taylor-Greene as his running mate.”
Greene is a well-known conservative firebrand in US politics despite losing her committee duties in February 2021.
According to reports, if Trump is elected president in 2024, he would likely hire Greene for a position in his cabinet.
Although Trump hasn’t formally declared that he’ll run for president again in 2024, several in his inner circle have speculated that he’ll do so in the coming weeks.
