(FreedomBeacon.com)- On Saturday, before his speech at the 2022 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Florida, former President Donald Trump gave an interview to Fox News Digital where he warned that the current conflict in Ukraine could become a larger conflict involving other counties.
Calling the events “a very dangerous period for our nation,” Trump said it could lead to another world war.
The former president also discussed both Russian President Vladimir Putin and China’s Xi Jinping, saying “there’s something wrong with them.” He suggested Putin and Xi may be sick or deranged, but ultimately they actually are is “stone-cold murders and thugs.”
When asked if he had any message for Vladimir Putin, Trump said he had no message, adding he thinks what’s happening in Ukraine is a shame. Trump also said that he hasn’t spoken to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
For some reason, the Trump-deranged media outlets were furious that Trump didn’t have a message for Vladimir Putin. They were equally upset to learn that the former president hadn’t spoken with President Zelensky.
They do know that he isn’t the President and Commander-in-Chief anymore, right?
It is no longer his job to convey messages to other world leaders or speak with them on the phone.
The truth is, if Donald Trump had told Fox News Digital that he spoke with Volodymyr Zelensky, the media would be outraged that a former president was overstepping the mark by speaking to Ukraine’s president.
Likewise, if Trump had offered a direct message to Vladimir Putin, those guys would be reading all kinds of “RussiaGate”-level paranoia into it, and that would be the story.
There’s no winning with these people.
Then again, the same news media was also outraged that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis didn’t address the Russian invasion of Ukraine during his speech at CPAC.
It’s as if they’ve forgotten who the President of the United States is.
Instead of getting upset with a former president and a governor, perhaps the media should figure out why the sitting President and Commander-in-Chief would rather sit picking his teeth than answer reporters’ questions about Putin:
