(FreedomBeacon.com)- Popular Fox News host Trey Gowdy, the former Republican South Carolina congressman, hit out at left-wing “The View” host Whoopi Goldberg last week for the anti-Semitic comments she made during a recent episode of the show.
Speaking on “Outnumbered” on Tuesday, Gowdy slammed Goldberg for wrongly claiming that the Holocaust “wasn’t about race.” Goldberg then walked back the disgusting comments during a friendly interview with Stephen Colbert on Monday night, apologizing for her comments on the show and once again on Tuesday morning’s episode of The View.
Gowdy told Fox that he has just a couple of “pretty simple rules in life.”
“Don’t ever compare anything to slavery, don’t ever compare anything to the Holocaust, and if you’re a man, don’t compare anything to pregnancy. That’s rule number one,” he said.
The second rule, he said, is that if you’re going to apologize then you should just apologize…and not try to explain it.
“Don’t explain it, don’t try to mitigate it, apologize and ask for forgiveness,” he said.
It was a clear reference to Whoopi’s appearance on late night television that she hoped would have put her in the clear. It didn’t, of course, because The View quickly announced that Whoopi would be taking some time away from the show.
Gowdy then went even harder on Whoopi, stating that as a culture, “we have got to do a better job of figuring out who is just famous and who actually knows what he or she is talking about.”
Here’s the clip of Whoopi claiming that Jews weren’t killed because of race.
Sparks fly as The View panel confronts Whoopi after she says "the Holocaust isn't about race. No. It's not about race."
"Well, the considered Jews a different race," Joy Behar says.
"But it's about white supremacy. It's about going after Jews and Gypsies," Ana Navarro adds. pic.twitter.com/GZwZSi2qXi
