Trans Murderer Receives Taxpayer-Funded Transition Surgery

Jason Michael Hann, a convicted murderer of his two infants, is set to receive breast augmentation surgery financed by taxpayers following his decision to identify as a transgender woman in 2019. The name chosen by Hann is Jessica Marie Hann. His gender transition started when California’s Democratic Governor, Gavin Newsom, signed an executive order that paused the state’s death penalty and halted all executions. This move led to Hann’s transfer from death row at San Quentin to the general population in a women’s prison. Four years into his new identity, Hann is prepared to undergo a state-funded surgery despite his grave offenses.

Initially arrested after the remains of his 10-week-old daughter, Montana, were found in a decomposing state within a Tupperware container in an RV trailer once owned by Hann, the law caught up with him. The infant’s corpse was found a year after being left behind in the trailer that had been repossessed and auctioned. The autopsy revealed a fractured skull as the cause of death.

As the investigations progressed, the authorities found a connection between Hann and an Arkansas storage locker. This led to the discovery of a second victim, a 6-week-old son that Hann had killed through head trauma in 1999. At the time of his arrest, Hann and his partner, Krissy Werntz, raised a one-year-old suffering from severe injuries but managed to survive after receiving proper medical care from authorities.

Amie Ichikawa, an advocate for incarcerated women and founder of WomanIIWoman, expressed her concern to Reduxx about the authorities’ secret relocation of Hann to the Central California Women’s Facility (CCWF) medical unit. She lamented the marginalized status of women in prison, stating that their rehabilitative chances have been obliterated, and they are forced to live in constant fear, developing symptoms of mass CPTSD.

“Transgender women, born biologically male, are allowed to have taxpayer-funded procedures such as laser hair removal, facial feminization surgeries, and Adam’s apple reductions,” Ichikawa said. She is unsure whether Hann has completed his transition or if he merely seeks breast augmentation.

She further pointed out the irony, stating, “[these procedures] are an insult to the women who have lost their teeth due to the arsenic and hexavalent chromium in the water supplies, whose skin and hair are rough and dull from the same toxins, and who are denied breast reductions because it’s considered a cosmetic procedure.”

According to Ichikawa, the plight of incarcerated women worsens after dark, with atrocities that most of these women are too ashamed to speak about.
