(FreedomBeacon.com)- A high-ranking United States Postal Service member former Vice President Joe Biden had selected was captured during a child sex trap and said, “I’m a pedophile,” on tape.
Russell Rappel-Schmid, the Chief Data Officer of the United States Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC), was apprehended in San Diego, California, as he was seeking to meet a 14-year-old kid to have sexual relations with him.
Rappel-Schmid was responsible for directing the PRC’s data management and ensuring that it complies with the OPEN Government Data Act. The PRC is in charge of monitoring the United States Postal Service (USPS), which is the agency in charge of handling mailed-in ballots during election season.
Although the federal authorities have not yet confirmed that the man in the video is Rappel-Schmid, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department announced that Rappel-Schmid was released from the city’s Central Jail early on Tuesday morning following his arrest on Monday. Rappel-Schmid had been booked into the facility on Monday. On Monday after next, he will be arraigned for his criminal charge.
Rappel-Schmid was reportedly attending a business conference in San Diego when he was said to have attempted to arrange a sexual encounter with a child who he believed to be 14 years old. Rappel-Schmid may be seen on video captured by People vs. Predators saying, “I’m a pedophile,” during the confrontation.
Rappel-employment Schmid’s at the PRC was terminated as a direct result of the video and the criminal allegations against him.
“The Postal Regulatory Commission is aware of the recent arrest of one of our employees, and they have expressed concern. As soon as the Commission was made aware of this information, the employee in question was given an instant termination notice. The Commission is startled and dismayed to learn of these severe accusations and remains resolute in its commitment to investigate any reports of staff misconduct immediately.

In May, he became a member of the oversight panel led by President Joe Biden. Before that, he had worked for the state of Alaska as its first chief data officer.
Rappel-Schmid had further experience working for the United States Postal Service (USPS) Office of Inspector General (USPS OIG) on the data analytics team and as an audit manager.
