(FreedomBeacon.com)- While addressing Republican senators who voted against confirming Ketanji Brown Jackson to the United States Supreme Court, Joy Behar warned her co-hosts on ABC’s “The View” that Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) was more dangerous than Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC).
Whoopi Goldberg interjected and said that Lindsey Graham is already implying there will be consequences if the GOP takes power after the midterms. She also pointed out that Lindsey Graham voted for Ketanji Jackson for the United States Court of Appeals less than a year ago.
She wondered why this SCOTUS nomination was so different from the others when electing persons to the court?
Behar also reminded everyone that the last time he voted for her, his seat wasn’t on the line and that he’s up for re-election soon. She went on to say that the person who bothers her most is people like Ben Sasse, the Nebraska senator.
She said Sasse is principled and that he stood up against Trump on a number of occasions. He’s said good things about Judge Jackson and said she was above reproach. But then he votes against her because “he wants to keep his job.”
She finds that pathetic, that type of stance, and she feels the Ben Sasses of the world are more dangerous than even the Lindsey Grahams.
That is an odd take considering Sasse is not worried about his job. He’s up for election in 2026.
It’s also peculiar to single out Sasse because, in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol, he was one of only seven Republican senators who voted to convict Trump in his second impeachment trial.
During the Jackson confirmation hearings, Sasse chastised members of Congress on both sides of the aisle for “showboating” for the cameras during committee hearings, calling it “jackassery.”
Also, Sasse didn’t flip-flop. On the confirmation of Ketanji Brown Jackson to be a judge for the DC Circuit, June 14, 2021, Sasse did not vote.
Suggesting Sasse is the worst, considering the arguments she previously made, which undermine her conclusion, is what we would expect from panelists of The View – opinions that are brainless.
