Supreme Court Race Decided In Wisconsin

Wisconsin recently elected a left-wing judge to the state’s Supreme Court earlier this week, according to Free Beacon. The flipped seat could reportedly impact the 2024 presidential election as crime in Democratic cities continues to run rampant. Janet Protasiewicz has a history of letting violent criminals off with light sentences, but despite that issue being at the forefront of her race, voters did not appear concerned as they refused to back conservative candidate and former State Supreme Court justice Dan Kelly.

But the messaging is not the only issue that has been spotted for conservatives. Democrats have fundraised and outspent conservatives by $5 million, effectively giving them a 4-3 majority in the Supreme Court for the first time in more than 10 years. The race totaled $45 million set a record for Supreme Court races and featured prominent Democratic donors, such as billionaire George Soros and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker.

Supreme Court picks are usually dubbed as “non-partisan”, but justices have a long history of voting one way or the other. Judicial philosophy is not allegedly exempt from politics. The new liberal majority means that the court is likely to rule in left-leaning favor over issues such as redrawing legislative maps which have practical consequences for the party in power, the abortion ban, and voter ID laws.

Protasiewicz did not reportedly shy away from voicing her political opinion on the abortion debate and some speculate that her messaging led to her ultimate victory, as her ads featured her opposition to any ban, which she called “draconian.” A debate last month showed her saying that if she lost, then the ban, created in 1849, will not go away.

The U.S. Supreme Court has been riddled with public pressure to halt their overturn of Roe v. Wade after a staffer leaked a draft from conservative Justice Samuel Alito, according to American Pigeon
