(FreedomBeacon.com)- Last Thursday, an armed suspect attempted to breach the FBI’s Cincinnati field office and was killed by law enforcement after a vehicle chase led to an hours-long standoff.
The suspect, 42-year-old Ricky W. Shiffer of Columbus, was believed to be wearing body armor and was armed both with a semi-automatic rifle and a nail gun.
According to law enforcement, Shiffer was known to the FBI. It is believed that Shiffer was in Washington in the days leading up to the January 6 riot, however, he was not charged with any crimes related to the riot.
After former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort was raided by the FBI last Monday, a Truth Social account believed to belong to Shiffer posted a “call to arms” and called for FBI agents to be killed “on sight.”
After Shiffer attempted to breach the Cincinnati field office, the account, @rickywshifferjr, posted, “If you don’t hear from me, it is true I tried attacking the F.B.I.”
The Feds are investigating the incident as a case of domestic extremism. Authorities are also looking into whether Shiffer had any ties to far-right groups like the Proud Boys.
Thanks to Shiffer’s idiotic actions, the FBI’s claim the search of Mar-a-Lago has fueled violence from right-wing domestic extremists is all but confirmed.
Last week, the FBI warned of a potential rise in right-wing threats against the FBI in response to last Monday’s raid. And then Shiffer slaps on body armor, grabs a gun, and gives the FBI exactly what the bureau was hoping for.
While visiting the FBI field office in Omaha on Wednesday, FBI Director Christopher Wray condemned right-wing threats against the bureau that hadn’t happened yet. And the very next day, Shiffer gives Wray a helpful assist in promoting the narrative.
Meanwhile, the FBI warned agents to avoid protesters outside of field offices and instructed them to keep their security key cards hidden when outside the building.
And if recent history has taught us anything, the FBI is already placing confidential informants in various right-wing groups trying to convince them to follow in Shiffer’s footsteps and launch further attacks on the FBI.
