Putin’s Army Has Secret Recordings Of Assault Victims

(FreedomBeacon.com)- Russian mercenaries, who deployed to Mali in an alleged “advisory role” last year, reportedly sexually assaulted dozens of women and girls during an armed raid and then further humiliated their victims by filming their naked bodies.

In an explosive report in The Daily Beast, survivors of the raid describe the events after soldiers from the Wagner Group, a paramilitary outfit established by Putin ally Yevgeny Prigozhin, took part in a raid in the village of Nia Oura in Mali’s central Mopti region.

The mercenaries, accompanied by soldiers from the Malian Armed Forces, stormed the village on the morning of September 4 and raided an alleged jihadist compound.

After about 30 minutes, the mercenaries ordered the men in the compound arrested, leaving only the women and children. One of the witnesses, a man who escaped arrest, told The Daily Beast that the men from the Wagner Group told the soldiers to “leave the women for us.”

When the witness and his two neighbors returned several hours later, they heard women screaming inside the compound where the Wagner Group mercenaries were molesting and abusing them. The three men waited until the Russian mercenaries left before going inside.

The witness told The Daily Beast that there were about 12 women and girls in the compound and some had blood on their clothes. He said all of the women had first been sexually assaulted then mercenaries stripped their clothes off, lined them up, and took videos of them.

The Wagner Group has been deployed on a series of offensives against Islamic jihadists since arriving in Mali late last year. They have been repeatedly linked to a series of atrocities across the country.

ACLED reported in August that 500 civilians died in incidents involving Malian forces and the Wagner Group since January.

Yevgeny Prigozhin’s Wagner Group has also deployed its mercenaries to Ukraine.
