Psychologist Survives Freak Roller Coaster Incident at an Amusement Park

If you’re already a little spooked by amusement park rides, then you probably shouldn’t read this article.

Reports out of Brazil reveal how a woman narrowly survived with her life after she was thrown off of a children’s roller coaster. Even crazier – the whole ordeal was captured on camera by a nearby bystander. 37-year-old Karine Brock was perched in the first cart of the roller coaster ride, sitting behind two children. She was then quickly thrown from the ride, leading her to fall to the ground. The incident, which saw the women fall on top of the ride’s tracks, occurred on August 11 in Minas Gerais.

Take a look at the insane footage here.

The woman, who is a licensed psychologist, suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident. Medical professionals treated her for head, facial, and rib injuries. She was left with a black eye and a major stitch on her forehead. The gruesome details were revealed in an Instagram post made by the woman on Monday. Brock also suffered a seizure as paramedics were removing her from the ride and taking her to nearby Mount Sinai Hospital.

In her Instagram post, Brock described how she was taken immediately to the ICU after arriving at the hospital, where she remained for two days.

“When the doctor came to see me, his first question was if I believed in God,” she said, adding that the fractures and injuries to her body and head meant that it was a “miracle” she survived.

So why did she fall? Well, if you assumed that the ride wasn’t suitable for an adult, then think again. Brock alleges that the lap bar that should have prevented her from falling failed, as it did not lock over her legs properly. The footage appears to show other adults on the ride.

Nuts, huh?
