Popular TV Host Is Headed Out

Longtime co-hosts Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless are parting ways.

Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless’s “Undisputed” and “First Take” are top-tier sports talk shows. While their time together was marked by some unforgettable moments and disagreements, it is now finished. Sharpe seemed to have had enough of the mounting tension over the 2022–23 season.

They’d been together for seven years, but things were unraveling.

After the conclusion of the NBA Finals this year, FS1 will air Sharpe’s last episode. Sharpe will no longer be presenting “Undisputed,” he will also be discontinuing his “Club Shay Podcast,” which aired on YouTube and other social media sites.

Don’t assume that the separation will be amicable.

On his Twitter, Shannon Sharpe has liked postings that suggest he thinks Fox made a mistake by continuing to work with Skip Bayless rather than him.

If you look at Shannon Sharpe’s Twitter during the 2022–23 season, you can get a good idea of what he was up to on “Undisputed.” Sharpe’s mounting frustration with Bayless and the stress of working with him as a partner was evident several times.

One memorable incident was when the pair disagreed when Skip criticized Tom Brady’s play. At one point in the argument, Skip declared that Brady was a superior player to Sharpe.

Another central turning point occurred when Damar Hamlin suffered a terrible injury while playing for the Bengals. Due to Hamlin’s heart attack, the game had to be postponed. Sadly, Skip sent an inappropriate tweet saying the NFL should not postpone the game because of Hamlin’s heart attack.

Sharpe returned after taking the next day off, clearly irritated with Skip. Sharpe was now eager to move on to greener pastures.

A recent tweet where someone opined that Skip Bayless was a “piece of s**t” was “liked” by Shannon Sharpe.
