(FreedomBeacon.com)- After former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home was raided by the FBI, country music star John Rich expressed his thanks to the Feds for firing up the conservative base.
In a tweet last Wednesday, Rich noted that the unprecedented search of a former president’s home “poured 81 million gallons of premium Patriot octane on an already blazing Freedom fire!”
Rich thanked the FBI and sarcastically told the bureau “you are good for something after all,” closing his tweet with “See you in November!”
There is no question that the Justice Department’s raid of Trump’s home acted as a red pill for a lot of people, convincing more than just die-hard Trump supporters that the FBI and DOJ are now targeting the Democrat Party’s political opposition.
Sure, many people already figured that out years ago.
But conducting a search warrant on a possible 2024 presidential candidate from the opposing party opened even more people’s eyes.
A survey conducted by the Trafalgar Group last week found that the country is nearly evenly divided on whether the FBI’s search of Trump’s home was reasonable, with 49.3 percent saying it was reasonable and 50.7 percent saying it was not.
If, as Attorney General Merrick Garland believes, the FBI was as pure as the wind-driven snow, the results wouldn’t have been that evenly divided.
Trafalgar also asked respondents if they believe the raid brings the country closer to or further away from being a freedom-based democratic republic. A slim majority, 51.3 percent, said it pushes us further away while 48.7 percent said it brings us closer.
In another survey, Trafalgar asked respondents whom they believe was behind last Monday’s raid. Only 39.7 percent of respondents said an “impartial justice system” while 47.9 percent believe Trump’s enemies were behind it.
