A Deadly Encounter at the Border

In a tragic turn of events, six international migrants (illegal aliens) lost their lives when Mexican soldiers opened fire on a truck near the Guatemala border. The incident, which occurred in Chiapas near the town of Huixtla, has sent shockwaves through the region and reignited debates about border security and human rights. As your friendly neighborhood conservative, I can’t help but feel a mix of concern and frustration over this situation.

But the border crisis isn’t real, Biden said!

The truck was carrying migrants from various countries, including Egypt, Nepal, Cuba, India, and Pakistan. Four migrants were found dead at the scene, with two more succumbing to their injuries later. In total, 12 others were wounded, while 17 migrants in the truck escaped unharmed. This incident paints a grim picture of the dangers faced by those attempting to cross borders illegally.

This is really getting out of hand.

The Complexities of Border Security

Now, let’s be clear: we all want secure borders. It’s a fundamental aspect of national sovereignty. But this incident raises some serious questions about the methods being used to achieve that security. The soldiers involved claimed they heard shots as vehicles approached, leading them to open fire. However, local prosecutors have confirmed that all victims died from gunshot wounds, and it’s unclear if they were from army fire.

Maybe it was necessary. We know how dangerous some of these people can be. But we also don’t really know the full picture, and frankly, we probably never will get it from Mexican authorities.

The Human Cost of Illegal Immigration

Let’s not forget the human element in all of this. An estimated 800,000 to one million people traverse Mexico from Central America annually, driven by factors like crime, violence, economic insecurity, and environmental issues. These are real people, with real families, making desperate choices. And these are out of date statistics, too. Those numbers are actually way higher, especially since Biden took office. Just how many more people are the Democrats willing to sacrifice to the gangs on the border before they finally admit that there’s a problem?
