(FreedomBeacon.com)- President Joe Biden might not speak out about the anti-Semitism from some of the most high-profile elected officials in his party, but his pick to serve as the special envoy to monitor and combat anti-Semitism seems to have noticed it.
Deborah Lipstadt, a professor of Holocaust studies and modern Jewish history at the Georgia Emory University, was nominated on Friday by the Biden administration to assume the ambassador role. And while she has yet to come out against anti-Semitism in the Democrat party since her nomination, she does have a history of calling out Democrat legislators who have peddled anti-Semitic tropes and conspiracy theories.
One example is her comments in 2019 about far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, who claimed that Americans who support Israel have an “allegiance to a foreign country.”
It was a clear attempt to suggest that Jewish people are infiltrating or subverting the United States by supporting the cause of Israel and the nation’s right to defend itself against Hamas extremists in Palestine.
Speaking to the Jewish Insider, Lipstadt said that anti-Semites regularly accuse Jews of “dual loyalties” and say that they are “globalists” who are not loyal to the United States or the people of the United States.
It’s obviously untrue, but it’s something that Omar has suggested several times before.
Responding to Omar’s claim that she was not peddling anti-Semitism, Lipstadt argued that Omar and people like don’t realize that anti-Semitism is “out in the ethosphere,” whereby they “hear it” and “breathe it in” without recognizing that it is anti-Semitism.
There are a few people who would argue that Rep. Omar knows very well that it is anti-Semitism…
