Grandfather Stabbed In Face For Asking Granddaughter To Shower

A woman in Louisiana allegedly stabbed her grandfather after he confronted her about her personal hygiene. Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office said they arrested 22-year-old Carrington Elise Harris after she became violent during an altercation with her unnamed grandfather, and they received a call about a domestic violence incident.

The suspect’s elderly grandparents allegedly approached Carrington and asked her to have a shower. She then became irate and began damaging the couple’s property, even cutting off the power to the residence. Police said the grandparents then tried to restrain her, but she escaped their grasp, went to the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and stabbed her grandfather in the face.

Harris then frantically left the home and ran to the woods nearby to hide from law enforcement. Officers found here there hours later.

The man was taken to a hospital in Shreveport, while Carrington Elise Harris was transported to Caddo County Correctional Center, where she was held without bond. It is not known if she has had any previous encounters with police or what her personal circumstances are.

The incident bears similarities to a notorious stabbing in North Carolina in July. In that case, police also responded to a domestic disturbance call on July 4 in the town of Thomasville. On arrival, officers encountered a horrific scene, finding a 73-year-old woman and a 75-year-old man with multiple stab wounds. Police immediately identified the couple’s granddaughter, Kristin Lynn Billings, as their primary suspect.

Billings disappeared from the scene after hiding her grandparents’ cell phones to ensure they couldn’t call for help. Police were alerted to her whereabouts by a member of the public who recognized her from an appeal photo circulated on social media. By the time they arrived, she’d fled again, but was located hours later.

Officers charged the 32-year-old with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of interfering with police communication. She was held on a half-million-dollar bond.
