Georgia Passes Sweeping Law Protecting Jews From Hate Crimes

In the summer of 2020 in the aftermath of the murder of George Floyd, thousands of violent protestors aligned with the group known as Black Lives Matter rioted, looted, vandalized and burned parts of major cities across the nation. At the height of the riots in 2020, Hawk Newsome, a prominent leader in the organization defended the looting actions taken, accusing America of being a “pillaging” nation and called the nations actions “terrorist”-like.

The organization is back in media headlines after several of its chapters expressed vocal support for the Hamas terrorists in Israel. After the murders of over 1,000 Jews in October, an account on X (Twitter) named Black Lives Matter Grassroots posted a statement claiming that the Hamas terrorists acted in self-defense, and that they should “not be condemned” but “understood”. Black Lives Matter stated that it stood in support of Palestine, which had endured “57 years of colonialism”. In truth, many progressives and leftists continue to support the terrorist group and other Palestinian allies. Students on college campuses across the U.S. have repeatedly engaged in open protests against Israel, condemning the nations actions in Gaza and claiming the nation should not have the right to defend itself after the October invasion. Despite this, many establishment figures on both sides of the political aisle remain corrupt “war hawks” and seek to escalate U.S. involvement in the middle eastern conflict. Republicans like Nikki Haley and Lindsey Graham have made many provocative remarks on national television and have sounded as if they are “thirsting” for war and American troops in the desert.

As the conflict continues to rage in the middle east and more and more terrorist groups associated with radical Islamists enter the fray, the world appears on the brink of major war. As anti-Semitism rises in the U.S., the state of Georgia passed legislation officially defining antisemitism. The legislation is supposed to help prosecute individuals committing hate crimes.
