Gabbard Revokes Security Clearances for Officials Who Lied About Hunter, Targeted Trump

Former intelligence officials who cast doubt on the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020 are now facing serious consequences under the Trump administration. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has stripped 51 officials of their security clearances in a sweeping action that also affects key Biden administration figures and prosecutors who targeted Trump. It’s about time, too!

At a glance:

• Tulsi Gabbard revoked security clearances of 51 former intelligence officials who claimed Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation

• Former President Biden has been cut off from receiving the President’s Daily Brief intelligence summary

• High-profile officials including Antony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, and former CIA Director John Brennan lost clearances

• New York prosecutors Alvin Bragg and Letitia James, who brought cases against Trump, also had clearances revoked

• The action follows President Trump’s directive to strengthen national security by removing access from officials who misled the public

Trump Order Strips Officials of Clearances

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has formally revoked security clearances from dozens of officials who doubted the authenticity of Hunter Biden’s laptop emails before the 2020 election. The sweeping action affects 51 former intelligence officials who signed a letter suggesting the laptop story was part of a Russian disinformation campaign.

The laptop’s contents, which included emails between Hunter Biden and a Burisma executive about meeting then-Vice President Joe Biden, have since been authenticated by multiple news organizations. Former officials like James Clapper and John Brennan are among those who have now lost access to classified information as part of the security clearance purge.

Gabbard announced the action on social media, stating: “Per President Trump’s directive, I have revoked security clearances and barred access to classified information for Antony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, Lisa Monaco, Mark Zaid, Norman Eisen, Letitia James, Alvin Bragg, and Andrew Weissman, along with the 51 signers of the Hunter Biden ‘disinformation’ letter. The President’s Daily Brief is no longer being provided to former President Biden.”

Biden Officials and Trump Prosecutors Targeted

The revocations extend beyond those who signed the Hunter Biden laptop letter to include top Biden administration officials and prosecutors who brought cases against Trump. Former Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan have lost their clearances along with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and New York Attorney General Letitia James.

Bragg prosecuted Trump on 34 felony counts related to falsifying business records, while James sued Trump in 2022 alleging false financial statements in his business dealings. And Trump isn’t just getting revenge – he’s making sure people who abuse the system don’t benefit from the system.

Biden Cut Off From Intelligence Briefings

Former President Biden will no longer receive the President’s Daily Brief, a classified intelligence summary typically provided to former presidents. Trump cited Biden’s own actions in 2021 as precedent for this decision, noting that Biden had stopped Trump from accessing intelligence briefings after leaving office.

Trump had previously announced his intention to revoke Biden’s security clearance on social media, writing: “There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information. Therefore, we are immediately revoking Joe Biden’s Security Clearances, and stopping his daily Intelligence Briefings.”

This is long overdue – but there’s still so much work left to do.
