Fox News Reporter Fights To Hold Back Tears During Eulogy For Fallen Coworkers

(FreedomBeacon.com)- During an appearance on Fox News’ “Special Report” on Tuesday, national security correspondent Jennifer Griffin was near tears as she spoke with host Bret Baier about the tragic deaths of Fox News photographer Pierre Zakrzewski and Fox consultant Oleksandra “Sasha” Kuvshynova who were killed in a mortar attack outside of Kyiv earlier that day.

As Griffin was wrapping her report from the Pentagon, she expressed her grief over the deaths of Zakrzewski and Kuvshynova.

Griffin fought back tears as she described the enormous loss and pain she was feeling. She told Baier that if there was ever a time the world needed journalists to risk their lives and tell the truth, it was now.

“Without a free press, the autocrats win,” Griffin said, adding that Fox would redouble its efforts “to honor these colleagues and all reporters in harm’s way.”

Pierre Zakrzewski, Sasha Kuvshynova, and Fox News foreign correspondent Benjamin Hall were traveling by car in the town of Horenka outside of Kyiv on Tuesday when they came under mortar fire from Russian forces.

Zakrzewski and Kuvshynova were killed in the attack, and Hall was injured. According to the Ukrainian military, Hall “lost part of his leg.”

On Wednesday, Fox News confirmed that Hall was out of Ukraine and was receiving medical treatment.
