Fox News Host Goes Out Of His Way To Apologize For Citing Poll From CNN

(FreedomBeacon.com)- Last Thursday, “Fox & Friends” discussed a recent CNN poll that found 75 percent of Democrats do not want Joe Biden to run for reelection in 2024. The poll also revealed that 55 percent of Republicans would prefer former President Trump stays out of the 2024 race as well.

And while co-host Steve Doocy went over the CNN poll results, co-host Brian Kilmeade added a disclaimer specifically directed at former President Trump, saying if Trump is watching, Doocy is just relaying the results of CNN’s poll and didn’t come up with those numbers himself. He added that CNN polling is “right as often as Halley’s Comet comes by.”

When Doocy asked Kilmeade if he was saying the CNN poll is inaccurate, Kilmeade explained that he just wanted to make it clear if Trump was watching that “we didn’t come up with that number. That’s what the poll said.”

And while some may have thought Kilmeade was trying to suck up to Trump, the opposite is more likely the case.

Chances are Kilmeade’s comments were a passive/aggressive dig at the former president who just days earlier had attacked “Fox & Friends” for putting a recent straw poll into perspective.

Earlier in the week after “Fox & Friends” did a segment on Trump winning the Turning Point USA straw poll that previous weekend, Trump went on a tear on Truth Social, attacking “Fox & Friends” for how they discussed it.

During the segment on Monday, the hosts noted that the Turning Point USA straw poll was not likely a reflection of the broader Republican base. This sent Trump into a rage, prompting his Truth Social attack.

Rather than kissing up to Trump, it is likely Kilmeade said what he did in response to the former president’s Truth Social tantrum.
