Florida Now Leads America In Migration And Immigration Growth

(FreedomBeacon.com)- According to new data from the Census Bureau, Florida is very much leading the way in terms of population growth – with immigration into the state reaching a national high. The net migration and immigration gain for the state between July 2020 and July 2021 was 259,480.

Data from the Census Bureau showed how 220,890 people moved into Florida from other states as well as Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico. It means that Florida is now the most popular destination for people moving within the United States – and it’s not hard to see why.

As most of the country was locking down during 2020, popular Republican Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis was fighting lockdowns and mandates, fighting to keep the cruise industry open, and helping hospitality businesses like bars and restaurants stay afloat by allowing them to keep their doors open.

Florida also added 38,590 immigrants in the same period, making it an extremely popular destination for people coming from overseas, too.

The second most popular state for immigration and migration was Texas, another Republican-controlled state that preferred freedom over mandates during 2020’s pandemic.

Is anyone surprised? Come on.

And just in case you thought it was a coincidence…the states that preferred lockdowns over freedom saw a net decline. New York saw a 1.6% decline, Illinois saw 0.9%, and both Hawaii and California saw their own decline of 0.7%.

One other piece of good news for Florida is that, for the first time ever, the number of registered Republicans in the state outnumbered the number of registered Democrats.
