Another Trump Threat Thwarted

St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Secret Service executed a search warrant leading to the arrest of 42-year-old Kendal Aaron Todd for making alarming threats against President Donald Trump. Todd now faces a charge of issuing “written threats to kill or do bodily harm” and is currently held on $500,000 bond at the county jail.

The investigation revealed Todd had posted an 80-second video on social media declaring himself president while referring to Trump as the Antichrist. In the disturbing clip, Todd challenged the President to “fight me naked to the death” and made specific threats about using a chainsaw and acid on the Republican President.

St. Lucie County Sheriff Richard Del Toro explained that law enforcement had been monitoring Todd for several days before taking action. “He just kept escalating his behavior,” Del Toro said, adding that “He got the attention obviously of the United States Secret Service — and that got our attention.”

Mental Health Concerns and Weapons

The suspect has a documented history of mental health issues, having previously been treated under Florida’s Baker Act. Authorities discovered that Todd possessed two handguns at his residence, prompting officials to file a risk protection order against him under Florida’s “red flag” law.

A relative reported that Todd had expressed “suicide by cop” ideations, raising extra concerns about his mental state. The risk protection order, which allows for temporary seizure of firearms from individuals showing signs of violence, will remain in place until a hearing scheduled for March 24.

Todd had previously been combative and threatened violence when deputies attempted to deliver civil paperwork to his home, revealing a pattern of potentially dangerous behavior.

Another Attack on Trump Prevented

This incident marks another foiled threat against President Trump, who was the target of several assassination attempts during his 2024 campaign. Neighbors in Todd’s community had noticed increased law enforcement presence in the area and were not surprised by the arrest, noting Todd’s strange behavior.

Todd is reportedly the brother of Tricia Todd, who was murdered by her ex-husband in 2016. Ronald Barron, a local resident interviewed about the threats, summarized community sentiment by stating, “That’s not cool at all.”
