(FreedomBeacon.com)- On Friday, the FBI announced that the investigation into the murder of Gabby Petito and the suicide of her boyfriend Brian Laundrie has been closed. The investigation, which was watched all over the world, was closed after a notebook was discovered along with the bodily remains of Laundrie.
In the notebook, the man claimed full responsibility for the death of his girlfriend.
Michael Schneider, the FBI Denver Division special agent in charge of the case, said that all logical investigative steps were concluded.
“The investigation did not identify any other individuals other than Brian Laundrie directly involved in the tragic death of Gabby Petitio,” he said, adding that the FBI’s primary investigation was intended to bring justice to Gabby and her family.
The case was watched all over the world after the pair went on a cross-country tour in a van, sharing their experiences with the world via YouTube. Shortly after Petito’s disappearance, Laundrie went missing. Petito went missing in August of 2021, and her remains were only discovered on September 19 in the camping area at Spread Creek in Wyoming.
According to the FBI, the notebook contained written statements from Laundrie claiming responsibility for his girlfriend’s death. However, investigators have not yet revealed the specific content of the book.
The North Port Police Department told the press that they had been briefed by the FBI on the closing of the case.
