Facebook Pauses Return To Campus

(FreedomBeacon.com)- Social media giant Facebook has postponed plans to return its employees to the office, citing the spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19.

The Big Tech company announced that employees will now be expected to return to the office in early 2022, meaning workers will have spent almost two years away from the office.

Facebook isn’t the only company doing this, either, with Google and Microsoft having recently announced vaccine mandates for all staff who wish to return to the office, and allowing most staff to continue working from home where possible.

The social media platform said that while they intend to have employees back to their campus by January, they will also be providing a great deal of notice for workers so they are fully prepared to return to the offices in person. The notice will be to ensure that workers have the time to take the two shots of the COVID-19 vaccine that will be required to return to work.

It is unclear whether employees who choose not to take the vaccine, and who would therefore be forced to continue working from home, will still have a job after refusing to take the vaccine.

Speaking to the press, a spokesperson for Facebook said that “data, not dates” is driving their approach to bringing people back to their offices. The spokesperson added that they will continue to “monitor” the situation and work with experts to prioritize the safety of employees upon their return.

Facebook’s primary offices are located in Palo Alto, California, but employees are working all over the work. The biggest Facebook campuses outside of California are located in London and New York.
