EU Orders Temporary Closure Of U.S. Airspace

(FreedomBeacon.com)- Last week, Moldova temporarily shut down its airspace owing to security concerns, with reports citing concerns about a Russian conspiracy to topple the government.

According to reports, a Russian drone sighting prompted the aviation authority to temporarily close and reopen airspace over the country, located on Ukraine’s southern border.

According to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Ukrainian security agencies informed its neighboring nation that Russia wanted to overthrow the pro-Western central administration.

RFE/RL also reports Moscow has dismissed charges that it plotted to destroy Moldova’s government as baseless.

Russia’s foreign ministry has claimed that Ukraine has been giving fake information to increase tensions between their country and Moldova.

Russian cruise missiles reportedly crossed into Moldovan territory before targeting Ukraine. The Moldovan Ministry of Defense has criticized the event as a breach of their country’s airspace, one of the numerous incidents since February last year.

According to a report, Ukrainian President  Zelenskyy announced that Kyiv had uncovered a Russian intelligence plot for the destruction of Moldova, which caused Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita to step down.

Sergey Lavrov, the head of Russia’s foreign ministry, has downplayed rumors of a coup, claiming that the West wants to force Moldova to become another Ukraine.

In the midst of a cost-of-living crisis and increasing inflation, a report claims that several thousand demonstrators gathered in Moldova’s capital last Sunday to demand that the new administration pay residents’ winter heating expenditures.

Reports show Movement For The People, a newly established organization, spearheaded the demonstration and received backing from six of Moldova’s Russia-friendly Shor Party legislators.

Some of the protesters in Chisinau were yelling for the removal of Maia Sandu in an attempt to force the country’s president to resign. Several protesters carried signs featuring the likenesses of Moldova’s political leaders and politicians next to pictures of their luxury vehicles and mansions.

Demonstrators chanted that politicians were raking in millions while ordinary people were going hungry.
