Donald Trump Says He Will Visit Border

( Vice President Kamala Harris is doing everything in her power to avoid traveling to America’s southern border.

But, one person is doing just the opposite — former President Donald Trump.

This week, Trump announced that he has accepted the invitation of Greg Abbott, the Republican governor of Texas, to visit the southern border with Mexico in his state. The former president will visit the border on June 30, but didn’t reveal any details of the upcoming trip.

He did release a statement about the invitation and upcoming trip, which criticized President Joe Biden’s approach to the southern border crisis. The statement read, in part:

“The Biden Administration inherited from me the strongest, safest and most secure border in U.S. history, and in mere weeks, they turned it into the single worst border crisis in U.S. history. It’s an unmitigated disaster zone …

“Biden and Harris have handed control of our border over to cartels, criminals and coyotes. Drug dealers, MS-13 gang members, human smugglers, sex traffickers and the criminal elements of the world now have free reign …

“Our brave border agents and courageous ICE officers have been illegally stopped from doing their jobs. Our Nation is now one giant sanctuary city where even dangerous criminals are being cut loose and set free inside the U.S. interior on a daily basis.”

Trump specifically pointed out how the two leaders of the country are avoiding visiting the southern border like the plague. Not only is Biden himself not visiting, Harris isn’t either — and she was put in direct charge of figuring out the root causes of the migrant surge.

As Trump said in his statement:

“What Biden and Harris have done, and are continuing to do on our border, is a grave and willful dereliction of duty. My visit will hopefully shine a spotlight on these crimes against our Nation — and show the incredible people of ICE and Border Patrol that they have our unshakeable support.”

Harris took a recent trip overseas, visiting both Mexico and Guatemala. Many people have criticized Harris’ comments following her trip to Mexico, where she said she didn’t even discuss the border crisis with Mexico. She even said she didn’t press Mexico on why they refused to take back migrants who had crossed from their border illegally into America.

As for Guatemala, its president, Alejandro Giammattei, was particularly disappointed with how his meeting with Harris went. He told “Face the Nation,” a TV show on CBS News, that he believed the change in administrations from Trump to Biden was the reason for the surge of illegal migration to the U.S.

Specifically, he said the messaging changed from the White House when Biden took over. That resulted in many “coyotes,” which is what human smugglers are referred to as, taking over and pushing illegal migration.

As Giammattei said:

“The message changed to, ‘We are going to reunite families and we are going to reunite children.’ The very next day, the coyotes here were organizing groups of children to take them to the United States.”
