Brennan’s autobiography offers some insights.
Brennan’s self-assessment is that he is a hot-tempered, working-class, Irish-Catholic lad from New Jersey.
Indeed, he never seems to run out of venom, especially for former President Donald Trump. Brennan also criticizes Mike Pompeo, his replacement as CIA director, because he felt he prioritized commitment to Donald Trump above duty to the nation.
Brennan never could quite understand that he wasn’t the President, and duty to the President is a duty to the nation. You just don’t “go rogue” because you’re a “hot-tempered Irishman.”
With no specifics, Brennan tweeted in September of 2020, “I have to compliment Donald Trump on doing an excellent job at tonight’s debate of demonstrating that he is a despicable ignorant fool.”
According to his memoirs, Brennan donned a diamond earring, used a lot of hashish in Cairo, and voted for Gus Hall, the Communist Party’s presidential candidate. In his early days, he imagined himself a character from Easy Rider and rode his Yamaha motorcycle to work.
Good luck WestExec Advisors.
