CBS Deletes Tweet Calling Kyle Rittenhouse Killings “Murders”

(FreedomBeacon.com)- CBS News egregiously came to its own conclusion about the Kyle Rittenhouse trial on Thursday, wrongly claiming that the young defended had “testified” to having “murdered two men” during the violent Antifa and Black Lives Matter riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in 2020.

Rittenhouse is charged with two counts of intentional homicide, but has pleaded not guilty to those two counts and has argued that he actually acted in self-defense. One survivor who was shot by Rittenhouse also testified in the trial that he pointed a gun at Rittenhouse before he was shot.

In a tweet, CBS Mornings incorrectly stated:

“Kyle Rittenhouse testified in his murder trial yesterday, breaking down in tears as he told the jury he murdered two men at a Black Lives Matter protest last year in self-defense.”

That’s not true. And they knew it, which is why the tweet was soon deleted.

The CBS Mornings Twitter account then re-published the tweet, but reworded it slightly. Instead of “murdered two men” it reads “killed two men.”

Everything they write is always so leading. Why didn’t they say that Rittenhouse testified to having defended himself against three violent attackers, one of whom hit him with a skateboard, and one of whom also pointed a handgun at him?

The Rittenhouse case could come to a close within the space of a week, with the jury asked to consider the closing arguments of the defense and the prosecution as early as Monday.
