(FreedomBeacon.com)- On Wednesday, President Joe Biden appeared to leave the door open to possibly blaming illegitimate elections as a reason why the Democrats could lose big in the 2022 midterm elections.
During a marathon press briefing marking his first year in office, President Joe Biden appeared to suggest that the Democrats’ inability to pass so-called “voting rights” legislation could result in the election not being “legit.” It caused immediate controversy, with left-wing media outlets calling the president out on what appeared to be a contradiction of claims that America’s election apparatus is up to scratch.
“I’m not saying it’s going to be legit,” the president told reporters. “The increase in the prospect of being illegitimate is in direct proportion to us not being able to get these reforms passed.”
So if the 2022 midterm elections aren’t legitimate, then what does that mean about Biden and the Democrats’ claims that the 2020 presidential election was the most secure in American history?

Democrats failed to pass their “voting rights” legislation this month after failing to obtain the support of moderate Democratic Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin. The two centrist legislators have taken heat from fellow Democrats after refusing to cooperate on efforts to end the Senate filibuster and give their party a chance to pass extreme legislation with a simple majority vote.
The president told the press that he hadn’t given up on passing the legislation and federalizing election rules, and pushed the false claim that Republicans were trying to make it “harder” for ethnic minorities to vote.
Biden then suggested that minorities would come out and vote in the 2022 midterms whether or not the legislation is passed, effectively proving Republicans right when they say that current election rules make it just as easy for Americans of all races and backgrounds to cast their votes.
So after a year of attacking former President Donald Trump for pointing out major flaws in America’s election system, and insisting that elections in the United States are free and fair, President Joe Biden appears to be setting the stage for a full-on assault on the election system in the event that his party loses control of Congress later this year.
