Biden Stepping Down Now Means Democrat Voters Miss Crucial Chance

President Joe Biden has resigned as the expected Democrat candidate because his party’s efforts to shield the obviously ailing candidate from a serious primary challenge essentially disenfranchised people across the Democrat base.

In December 2022, Biden sent a letter to the DNC requesting a reorganization of the primary schedule and other adjustments to the nomination process.

The next day, the DNC took action to accommodate Biden’s proposals, the most important of which was to reverse the long-standing practice of having the Iowa Caucus be the first to vote in the Democrat primary process and relocate the voting to South Carolina.

After terrible performances in the 2020 Iowa Caucuses and New Hampshire primary, Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign seemed to be in jeopardy until South Carolina salvaged it.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) defeated him by 26 percentage points in the Nevada Caucuses after he finished fourth in Iowa and fifth in New Hampshire.

In an April 2023 podcast interview, Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. criticized the DNC for running a rigged primary system. Kennedy Jr. began his candidacy in the Democratic primary cycle before departing.

With just two opponents, the obscure Minnesota Democrat Representative Dean Phillips and the self-help entrepreneur Marianne Williamson, Biden was almost guaranteed the nomination after the media, the party, and even his own family demonized Kennedy.

Biden, who had won all nominating contests and 14 million votes, faced a disastrous debate against Donald Trump on June 27.

Democrats have now removed Biden from the process, threatening other races further down the ballot. The Democrat National Convention in Chicago will decide on the nominee instead of millions of primary voters, disenfranchising Biden supporters and those yet to cast a ballot.

At the Republican National Convention, Rep. Carlos Giménez (R-FL) accused the Democrats of posing a danger to democracy and attempting to remove their presidential nominee, who was selected by the Democrat party.

Kennedy Jr. acknowledged that Biden’s illness and flaws were apparent but expressed concerns that the DNC’s elites were manipulating the nomination process to install Vice President Kamala Harris, who is unpopular with the American people. He emphasized the need for an open process to restore the Democrat Party’s dedication to democracy.
