(FreedomBeacon.com)- House Democrats are demanding that Congressman-elect George Santos (R-NY) resign over the lies he told about his resume and background while campaigning for office, and the irony isn’t lost on those who have for years called out the massive falsehoods told by Joseph Robinette Biden Jr.
Santos, who defeated Democrat Robert Zimmerman in November, had falsely claimed to be a graduate of Baruch College who worked for Goldman Sachs and Citibank. He also claimed to be Jewish (he’s not) and that his mother died on 9/11 (she died in 2016).
Some of Santos’ lies were initially exposed in a recent report in the New York Times.
On Monday, Santos admitted to the New York Post that he made stuff up. He told the Post he was “embarrassed” and “sorry for having embellished my resume.”
Of course, Santos’ apology hasn’t done a thing to stop Democrat lawmakers from demanding he resign his seat. California Congressman Eric Swalwell, who famously got hoodwinked by a Chinese honey trap, even demanded that Santos not be permitted to be sworn in next week.
Congressional Democrats may want to think twice about dying on this hill, given the lies told, not just by Joe Biden, but by faux Indian Elizabeth Warren and faux Vietnam vet Dick Blumenthal.
In his 50-year career in Washington, Joe Biden has told so many lies about his resume and biography, it’s hard to keep track of them all. And even after his lies get called out, Joe Biden continues to repeat them.
While running for president in 1988, Biden claimed he went to Syracuse law school on “a full academic scholarship” and graduated “in the top half of my class.” He didn’t get a full scholarship and he graduated 76th out of a class of 85 people.
Biden has repeatedly claimed that he was arrested in South Africa while attempting to visit Nelson Mandela in jail. He also claimed that he served as a “liaison” between Egypt and Israel during the 6-Day War (only Joe was attending law school at Syracuse University in 1967 when the 6-Day War took place).
In recent weeks, Biden claimed he was “raised in the Puerto Rican community” and that in 2008, when he was Vice President, he pinned a Purple Heart on his uncle Frank (who died in 1999).
