Biden Claims US Not at War Anywhere in the World in Live Address

During his Wednesday night address to the American people, President Joe Biden insisted that the United States was not at war anywhere in the world – prompting ridicule online. The comment came after the president announced his withdrawal from the 2024 race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to replace him.

In his address, Biden noted that serving as president was an honor, but that he opted to hand the baton to a new generation. He then claimed he was the sole president of this century to declare that the US was not at war abroad, but then said he would continue to push the coalition of countries to stop Putin from taking over Ukraine. He promised to strengthen NATO and do the same for our Pacific allies.

Biden made no mention of his cognitive problems, by the way.

Many on social media replied to Biden’s words by reminding him how much taxpayer dollars and weapons the US has supplied to Ukraine over the last two years of war.

WorldStrat president Jim Hanson posted that the Ukranian/ Russian war, and the $175B spent on it, conflicted with Biden’s reality.

The US military also strikes Houthi targets almost every day in Yemen and the Red Sea, even though Congress has not formally declared war. So Biden’s wrong there, too.

The U.S. Senate granted war dollars to Ukraine ($61 billion) and Israel ($26 billion) and ($9 billion) for Gaza’s humanitarian relief in a $95 billion assistance package in April.  In June, VP Kamala Harris assured Ukraine that she would provide an additional $1.5 billion in immediate assistance.

America has provided humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, totaling more than $3.2 billion since the dispute between Russia and Ukraine began. Additionally, the energy industry in Ukraine has received about $1.5 billion in aid.  A May assessment by the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget revealed that Congress had authorized approximately $175 billion in aid and military assistance to help the Ukrainian government and ally countries two years after Russia’s invasion.

On July 22, Ukrainian President Zelensky thanked President Biden for his continuous support after announcing he would withdraw from the 2024 race but continue in office.
