AR-15 Owners Face $3.6 BILLION Tax Fees Under Joe Biden’s Gun Plans

(FreedomBeacon.com)- If you’re an AR-15 owner, then you should probably know about Joe Biden’s plans for gun legislation. A specific provision in the Democratic presidential nominee’s proposed gun control policy would require every single AR-15 rifle owner in the United States to be registered under the 1934 National Firearms Act.

Under the provision, and without any additional action taken by Biden if he were to somehow win the presidency in November, gun owners would be required to pay $200 in federal taxes for every AR-15 that they currently own.

According to Andrew Arulanandam of the National Rifle Association, current estimates suggest that there is a minimum of 18 million privately-owned AR-15s in the country. Do the math, and it means that the provisions put forward in Biden’s proposed gun control policies would result in some $3.6 billion in taxes collected from gun owners who would be paying for guns they already own.

If that wasn’t a big enough number, however, then taking into account the various other weapons that the proposed legislation may also consider “assault weapons,” it could likely be much higher.

Under Biden rules, all “assault weapons” would need to be registered with the federal authorities and every owner would be required to give their photograph and fingerprints to the FBI, and potentially even undergo an FBI background check.

On the Biden campaign site, this is outlined in detail:

“Regulate possession of existing assault weapons under the National Firearms Act. Currently, the National Firearms Act requires individuals possessing machine-guns, silencers, and short-barreled rifles to undergo a background check and register those weapons with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Due to these requirements, such weapons are rarely used in crimes. As president, Biden will pursue legislation to regulate possession of existing assault weapons under the National Firearms Act.”

Should Joe Biden win in November, and then successfully pass the changes he proposes, it would mean that every single American that owns an AR-15 or other weapon that is officially deemed to be an “assault weapon” – whatever that means – would be required to undergo new checks and pay back taxes.

Though, perhaps this shouldn’t be all that surprising for a candidate that said he wants to put Beto O’Rourke in charge of gun policy.
