(FreedomBeacon.com)- In an effort to white-knight for both Attorney General Merrick Garland and the National School Boards Association, last week the Associated Press ran a “fact-check” to “debunk” the claim that the NSBA wanted parents protesting school boards to be labeled as “domestic terrorists.”
The AP’s fact-check is, on its face, a lie. What the Associated Press tried to do is play a semantics game as a way to label the “fact-check” false.
In the letter the NSBA sent to the Biden administration, they specifically wrote that these protests “could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes.”
In the AP’s fact-check, the phrase “could be” does a heck of a lot of heavy lifting. See, they didn’t label them “domestic terrorists;” they just said they “could be” domestic terrorists.
In their letter, the NSBA expressly requested a “joint expedited review” from federal, state and local law enforcement coordinating with the FBI’s “National Security Branch and Counterterrorism Division.”
Really? Why else would they want the FBI’s counterterrorism division involved if they weren’t claiming protesting parents might be domestic terrorists?
They also wanted the Biden administration to determine if the actions of these protesting parents are enforceable under the PATRIOT Act “in regards to domestic terrorism.”
Using the typical “conservatives pounce” angle, the Associated Press claimed that conservatives on social media were lying when they said the NSBA “specifically” asked “the Biden administration to label parents who protest school policies domestic terrorists.”
Instead, the AP fake-news-splained, the organization didn’t ask Biden to label parents as terrorists. They only asked the administration to investigate the “treats” to see if they “‘could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes.’”
Wow. Talk about splitting hairs.
The Associated Press also let the CEO for the National School Boards Association deny everything, telling the AP that conservatives’ characterization is “absolutely false.”
NSBA CEO Chip Slaven explained that the NSBA doesn’t want to stop parents from exercising their First Amendment rights, nor do they want to “label them as terrorists.”
So why bring it up in your letter, you nitwit? Why write a letter to the DOJ at all? If there actually are “threats” or “harassment,” call the local police. That’s what they’re there for.
No. The reason they sent this letter to the Biden administration is to turn a local issue into a federal case. And what better way to prompt a response from the Biden people than to drop the term “domestic terrorism” in their letter? Because we all know just how quickly the Biden administration hops into action when Americans are called “domestic terrorists.”
On Sunday’s “Life, Liberty & Levin,” host Mark Levin slammed Attorney General Merrick Garland over his memo targeting parents protesting school boards.
