New Task Force Takes Aim at “Anti-Christian Bias”
Attorney General Pamela Bondi recently hosted the inaugural meeting of the Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias at the U.S. Department of Justice. Established under President Trump’s Executive Order 14202, the task force brings together high-ranking officials from across the administration to address what they describe as systematic bias against Christians in federal policies and practices. The meeting featured testimonies from individuals who claim they were targeted by the previous administration specifically because of their religious beliefs.
During the meeting, Michael Farris discussed how Cornerstone Church faced IRS charges for alleged Johnson Amendment violations, while Dr. Scott Hicks highlighted significant fines against Liberty University and Grand Canyon University that he attributed to their Christian worldview. A Navy SEAL named Phil Mendes testified that he was relieved of duty after being denied religious exemptions from COVID-19 vaccination requirements, further illustrating what the task force views as examples of federal overreach targeting people of faith.

Cabinet Officials Report Widespread Concerns
Multiple Trump administration cabinet members presented evidence of what they characterized as anti-Christian bias across federal agencies. FBI Director Kash Patel addressed a controversial anti-Catholic memo that had circulated within the bureau and affirmed the FBI’s commitment to eliminating such bias. Secretary of State Marco Rubio voiced concerns about discrimination against Christian Foreign Service Officers and homeschooling families, including allegations that some families faced threats of child abuse investigations if they chose to homeschool their children.
“As shown by our victims’ stories today, Biden’s Department of Justice abused and targeted peaceful Christians while ignoring violent, anti-Christian offenses,” said Attorney General Pamela Bondi. “Thanks to President Trump, we have ended those abuses, and we will continue to work closely with every member of this Task Force to protect every American’s right to speak and worship freely.”
Other officials including Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. discussed challenges faced by faith-based healthcare systems, while Secretary of Education Linda McMahon addressed the suspension of educators who opposed certain gender identity education policies.
Deputy Treasury Secretary Michael Faulkender raised concerns about financial surveillance and classification issues affecting Christian organizations, and Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins highlighted actions taken against a chaplain for preaching from the Bible.

Addressing Past Grievances and Future Protections
The task force has outlined several objectives, including identifying unlawful anti-Christian policies and practices across government agencies, seeking input from faith-based organizations and state governments, and addressing regulatory deficiencies that may contribute to religious discrimination.
Of particular concern to the administration are alleged targeting of pro-life advocates, increased church vandalism following the overturning of Roe v. Wade, and what they describe as uneven application of federal laws.
“The First Amendment isn’t just a line in the Constitution, it’s the cornerstone of our American liberty. It guarantees every citizen the right to speak freely, worship freely, and live according to their conscience without government interference. Protecting Christians from bias is not favoritism. It’s upholding the rule of law and fulfilling the constitutional promise.”, Bondi said.
According to the Department of Justice, the Trump administration has already taken several actions to reverse policies they view as anti-Christian, including pardons for pro-life advocates and limiting the use of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act. The task force may also influence hiring practices in the federal government and address what supporters describe as religious bias in higher education institutions. Members emphasized that their goal is to ensure fair treatment of religious Americans rather than establishing preferential treatment.
