(FreedomBeacon.com)- Five Democrat members of a Pennsylvania school board recently defied local rules and tried to implement mask mandates for students – but thankfully, a judge stood in their way and removed every single one of them from the board for breaking the rules.
On Tuesday, President Sue Tiernan, along with Joyce Chester, Daryl Durnell, Karem Herrmann, and Kate Shaw, were all fired by Chester County Judge William Mahon for forcing children in West Chester schools to wear masks at the beginning of this year.
When the five Democrat school board members voted to implement a mask mandate earlier in the year, they knew that it was unconstitutional. The Pennsylvania state Supreme Court ruled as much in December before they voted to implement the rule.
The five members of the school board were given an opportunity to rectify the mistake, but failed to respond to a petition brought to them by parent Beth Ann Rosica, who is also a former English teacher. When they failed to acknowledge the petition – or the fact that their rule was unconstitutional – they were fired.
“I did not believe they had the legal authority to mask our children. I want to ensure they will never be forcibly masked again,” Rosica rightly said in her petition.
A lawyer representing the fired board members said that a motion for the decision to be reconsidered has been filed and a response will be given some time before April 5.
Let’s hope those who punish children and make their learning experiences unbearable aren’t given the chance to go back to their old jobs and do it all over again…
